National Day of Prayer

May 11th will be the day when our community will celebrate the National Day of Prayer, a day to pray for the nation, our communities, and our leaders. The Tawas Area Ministerial Association has been joining with Christians across the country over the last several years to observe this important day, and this year, Tawas City and East Tawas will observe this day in a unique way: a Tawas City prayer Walk! All are invited to meet us on Thursday, May 11th at 6:00 at First Baptist Church in Tawas City, after which we will pray our way through town at the stations listed below. We hope to keep close to the schedule so that you can join us along the way - even if it’s just for a station or two - around your other activities. The entire walk is approximately one mile.

    •    6:00 - Churches (First Baptist Church, Tawas City)

    •    6:15 - Businesses (Buresh Funeral Home, Tawas City)

    •    6:25 - Government (Tawas City Hall)

    •    6:35 - Military Personnel (Veteran’s Park)

    •    6:45 - First responders (Fire Department)

    •    6:55 - Families (Corner of 7th Avenue and Whittemore Street)

    •    7:05 - Education (Tawas Elementary School)

    •    7:20 - Lord’s Prayer and Reception (First Baptist Church, Tawas City)

In the event of inclement weather, we will have a simple prayer service at 6:00 in the large room at First Baptist in Tawas City. Please check the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church Facebook page or contact the Grace Lutheran Church office (989-362-5371) for weather-related updates. The peace of our risen lord Jesus Christ be with you on this National Day of Prayer!
