Potluck Brings Food & Music to TAPC

Our May Pot Luck not only provided a delicious dinner but some wonderful musical entertainment.

The pot luck happened on Thursday, May 18 at 6:00 pm. After eating, the guests retired to the sanctuary and enjoyed a 45-minute concert by "Scrambled Eggz," featuring some of the most talented young people in our community. Scrambled Eggz is a high school band assembled by Gregory Jacot. The band travels to nursing homes around town to entertain the residents with their music, and are always asked to come back for more.

Normally a 13-member band, several of the teen musicians could not play at TAPC due to other commitments. Not one to let that stop him, conductor Gregory took the seven kids he had and made it work. That called for some hasty re-arranging of music and calling on some of the multi-talented kids to play more than one instrument. The result was a delightful evening of music, ranging from classical pieces, to the bouncy “Can-Can” tune, to brassy Mexican songs to a medley of TV theme songs. We enjoyed a couple of beautiful piano solos by Doug Ferguson too.

Scrambled Eggz received a well-earned standing ovation for their concert and were urged to come back again any time!

Our thanks go out to TAPC’s own Gregory and Brady Jacot (conductor/clarinet player and percussionist, respectively) and to their friends Doug, Bryce, Hannah, Michelle and Stewart for an enjoyable evening of music!
